Grower Profile
The Côtes de Provence vineyard has it’s roots in the ‘Bouches du Rhone’ department at the foot of the Saint Victoire Mountain and works it’s way round the Saint Baume massif towards Vars. After skirting the shores of the Mediterranean, it runs into the foot hills of Esterel. However, most important of all is the art of the wine maker, Patrice Moreux is a ‘Wine Maker Exceptionelle” in the Loire, and has recently extended his expertise into 25 hectares of Provence in the Massif de Maures, bathed in the most fortunate Mediterranean sunshine of St Tropez.
Perfectly situated and protected by the mountains, his vines of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah obtain maximum maturity. A superb soil mixture of maritime and crystalline rock mineral deposits together with 25% Grenache and 75% Syrah give exotic fragrances of red berry, mulberry, spices of cinnamon and truffle retaining plenty of fruit due to de-stemming. Perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, sauce, game, bouillabaisse and ailloli. His exquisite pale Rosé is obtained through 50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache and 10% Syrah. Will suit tasty seafood, fish and Mediterranean salads.
