Another great full-bodied Spanish red wine – this is the 2009 Abadia de Arcis Tempranillo;
Tasting – With grapes picked in the last week of September, this wine displays a cherry red colour with purplish edges. Intense aroma reminiscent of red fruits. Elegant and well-balanced in the mouth with good body and tannins.
Grower – Bodega Sebiran – The winery was founded in 1914 and is located in the district of Campo Arcis 60km from Valencia, in the Denomination of Origin Utiel-Requena. The grape varities are grown in the 38,550 hectares of chalky-clayish terrain – reds including Bobal, Tempranillo, Merlot and Garnacha, with whites including Macebeo, Planta Nova, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Priced at only £7.00, this is a great wine for any evening in or Sunday lunch …click here
